Asia-Pacific Labour Barometer: Developing tourism workforce intelligence
This project, lead by the UQ Tourism Workforce Development Team, in partnership with EarthCheck, the world’s leading scientific benchmarking, certification and advisory group for travel and tourism, aims to develop a commercial Tourism Labour Barometer.
The tool’s potential markets are governments, business and related organisations across the Asia-Pacific region, with a view to assist them in tracking, mapping and forecasting tourism workforce trends to support the sustainable development and long-term growth of the industry.
While several similar tools exist in other regions (e.g. the European Skills Barometer), there is no such product in the Asia-Pacific.
AIBE has provided support to develop a prototype tool and conduct workshops for the researchers and partners.
