AIBE accepts students through the Student Work Experience Program (SWEP) which is a competitive recruitment and work experience program for mid-degree students from the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.

As part of the work experience with AIBE, students are coached to write a research paper on a topic of choice (and approved by the Director). The skills learned while at AIBE will assist you with writing reports in the workplace and in an academic career or your studies. Some of the skills you will learn while at AIBE include:

  • critical thinking and writing
  • writing literature reviews
  • problem solving
  • synthesizing information
  • searching methods
  • research methods
  • understanding of applied research.

AIBE is flexible on the days you will be working. The days worked will be agreed between the student and the Director. It is suggested that a full day (rather than a few hours) be used.

The duration of the work experience will be negotiated and agreed at the beginning of the program with the student and the Director (no more than 30 days in total).

AIBE will provide the workspace and resources necessary for the work.
