Dr Chris Roberts has 40 years of experience in international medical device businesses covering medical disciplines such as nephrology, orthopaedics, cardiology, respiratory, sleep medicine and otolaryngology. These businesses are characterised as being global in nature and driven by innovation.

Dr Roberts was the CEO/President of Cochlear Limited, a global market leader in implantable devices for the hearing impaired, from February 2004 to August 2015.

Dr Roberts is currently a non-executive director of ResMed Inc, having served as Executive Vice-President ResMed Inc from 1992 until he became CEO of Cochlear Limited (2004). He is a member of numerous boards, committees and councils, and has been awarded honorary Doctor of Science degrees from both Macquarie University and the University of NSW.

He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (FTSE), Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD) and Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia (FIEAust).

Dr Roberts holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Hons) from UNSW, as well as an MBA from Macquarie University.
